On Your Way to Homeownership!
Purchasing a home may be one of the largest investments of your lifetime. After browsing all the houses for sale, you finally found one! We know how complicated purchasing a home can be, let us take what could be an overwhelming process, and turn it into an enjoyable experience. Here’s how Team Hage can help.
Finding an Agent
There are many factors to consider as you choose an agent to help you find your home. Experience, commitment, availability, enthusiasm, and personality are all items to consider. You will spend a great deal of time with this person throughout the purchasing process. At Hage Real Estate, we have a team of full-time agents with over 150 years of combined experience—that should make Hage your first choice!
Getting Prequalified
Your agent can connect you with a number of local lenders who will help you determine your affordability. Before issuing a prequalification letter, the bank will ask you a series of questions regarding your current income and debt responsibilities. They will also run a credit report. Having a pre-qualification letter to present with your offer is an easy way to make your offer more attractive to the seller—it will get you one step closer to owning your new home!
Looking for a Home
You may be fortunate enough to find the home you love on your first day viewing properties, or you may find it to be a challenging process. Regardless of how long it takes, have fun with it and communicate with your agent as openly as possible. The more your agent understands your likes and dislikes, the better their position to find you a home that truly meets your needs and desires. You will look at properties online, in the newspaper, at open houses and one-on-one with your agent. There’s a home out there for you; with patience and commitment to the cause, we will leave no stones unturned and find you that home!
Making “The Offer”
Now that you have compared properties, you have found a home that meets most of your needs and wants. Your agent will help you determine a fair market value and structure an offer with the appropriate contingencies (Mortgage, Home Inspection, Radon, Good Faith Deposit, etc). Your agent will present the offer to the seller and negotiate on your behalf. Hopefully, the first offer you make is the one that is accepted. If not, we will try again until we can put you in the home of your dreams!
